Everyone has chosen a person to become and expert on for the Wax Museum. Students are busy reading about and researching their person. After students write their report they will be making a backdrop for the Wax Museum presentation. If possible, it would be helpful if your student could print out pictures of their chosen person, to bring to school and add to their backdrop. Please mark your calendars for the Wax Museum on May 4 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. Our work on Social Justice has inspired many of our students. This week, we voted on our favorite Red Clover book and I Dissent won! The above photos include questions students are curious about and some photos of students sharing their Padlets (virtual bulletin boards) about various government structures they have researched. Third Grade Math: Third graders are busy learning about quadrilateral. On Friday, they folded a square into 7 tangram puzzle pieces. After creating the tangram pieces, students had to figure out how to put it back into a square. This was a frustrating process from some students, but everyone persevered and by lunch time, everyone had figured out how to place the pieces back into the original square. We will continue to work with tangrams this week to create squares, rectangles, trapezoids, rhombuses and parallelograms. Ask your third grader the most important attribute of above quadrilaterals. Band Field Trip: On Wednesday, April 11, band students will be going to MUHS to listen to the MUMS and MUHS bands. Students will leave at 10:10 and return to school for lunch. Attached is the a copy of the permission form that was sent home with your child today. Please return it to school as soon as possible. 4_11_18_salisbury_band_trip.pdf Kids on the Run: The Kids on the Run group has been working hard. They enjoyed "Boot Camp" last week. Everyone has been building up their endurance. Students who felt ready, went out for a run on the road last week. Many of the students ran a 5K or more. The adults have to work hard to keep up with the kids! Above are some photos of students playing outside! Folk dancing fun!
